non-stop pain in upper left abdomen?

I’m 18 years old, i’m a smoker of 3 years. I’ve been generally in good physical health all my life.
on today will be the 4th day of chronic pain.

the sharp “stabbing” pain in my upper left abdomen under or around my rib cage started on a Monday(day/night1) night. earlier that day i had chills and got very lightheaded.
I slept and laid in bed all day Tuesday(day2) hoping i would sleep it off. but it stayed the same. got a little bit more painful in fact.
Laughing, coughing, breathing in deeply, yawning, laying down on my sides/back or stomach causes very severe sharp pains. to the point where i’m doubled over. I have felt nauseous, fatigue, lethargic, and get many pressure headaches, and lightheaded.
Wednesday(day3) i went to my doctor where i get prescribed my medications. i peed in a cup and she pushed on my stomach and said she didn’t know what was wrong with me. she said that maybe i tore a muscle. but i don’t see how that’s possible since i do not do any heavy lifting, exercise, or strenuous activities at all. So she prescribed me an anti inflamitory pain killer “Tramadol” 50mg taken every 6 hours.
i started taking the pills right away, it has had no effect on me or the pain.
Thursday(day4) this morning the pain was ridiculous just to get up out of bed. i tried to go lay back down and it still hurt. should i go to the hospital or am i just worrying about nothing?

I would definitely advise you to go to the hospital. Severe abdomen pain can be a sign of many serious illnesses. If the tramadol is having no effect on you and you are feeling nauseous, lethargic, and lightheaded, chances are your pain is something more than a pulled muscle.

You need to have some tests to really determine the problem and/or cause. My FIRST guess is something like your gallbladder. You could have stones there, that needs to be removed. IF there are stones and many the gallbladder needs to come out. DO NOT hesitate or avoid this, according to my mother her grandmother did as she disliked doctors and she ended up dying from a gallbladder attack at the age of 40. Please get medical attention, your symptoms are not very good.
I would not wait further with this, if there is any type of infection in your body it’s spreading around.

They should at the very least do an ultrasound or a ct scan. These will best determine the problem. Your pancreas is also a problem area in that location if something is wrong with it, as you relay now.
Don’t wait , both of those suspected areas are ones that could become life threating.

You’ve already been seen by a dr. and she said she didn’t know what it was. That pretty much says it can be something simpler, like pinched muscles in your back. when pinched they can easily put pressure on the nerves going to other body parts which in time can make them go into pain as well. It would be the reason what the dr. gave you isn’t helping either. You can release your back very easily to find out if this is what is causing your pains and here’s how:
    Back:
    (do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but remain there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
