Anyone with CFS know any facts about diagnosis or treatment? Other than the obvious fatigue, what symptoms to expect? I’ve visited some medical sites, but I’m hoping to get info from people who have actually dealt with it.

I have fibromyalgia and it’s(the symptoms) very similiar to chronic fatigue symdrome. I get tired easily, depressed, space out a lot and have bouts of short term memory lost and joint and muscle pain.
I had it for many years. When I changed my diet to a balanced healthy organic diet and starting walking every day (just a mile at first) it started to go away. Now it’s gone completely and I have new found energy!
In my case, if I get my 8 hours sleep, eat very healthy (no junk food or soda) and exercise for at least 45 minutes with a walk, I have no problems with it. It just went away naturally. Still, once a month a get a day where my period makes me very tired, but that’s just one day a month and I know the reason, so it’s okay.
PS: Quit the ingredients on the links below and you will notice a change. MSG, HF Corn syrup and aspartame. Try the cures on the holistic website, it helped me with a lot and it’s written by people like you and me. I also use apple cider vinegar, maybe that has something to do with it too.
Hello:
My aunt suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome and she told me that these were some of her symptoms:
Constantly tired
Body Aches all over
Sore Throat
A feeling of being run down,or just no energy whatsoever to do anything such as shopping,cooking,cleaning,etc..
Have you had your thyroid levels checked recently?? Alot of times if you are feeling very tired or run down, your thyroid may not be functioning properly!! ALOT of people are unaware that they are suffering from either Hyperthyroidism,or Hypothyroidism!!
Hyperthyroidism-means that your thyroid hormone is overactive, and if you do have this condition, then a doctor will put you on medication to take for the rest of your life.Your symptoms are that you can lose weight very quickly,or you may feel colder or warmer than other people do,etc..!
Hypothyroidism-means that your thyroid is underactive and you can have symptoms such as chronic fatigue no matter how much sleep you get you are still exhausted, your hair may be falling out, brittle or thin nails both fingernails and toenails, you may gain weight very rapidly, you may feel very hot or cold when other people feel fine, etc…
All that you have to do is go to your doctor and have your doctor perform a TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Test),by simply drawing some of your blood!! This test will tell your doctor how well your thyroid is either functioning or not functioning, and if you do need medication, you will have to take a pill or pills EVERY DAY for the rest of your life! DON’T EVER STOP TAKING YOUR MEDICATION IF YOU ARE DIAGNOSED WITH A THYROID DISEASE!! If you were to stop taking your medication cold turkey, you could slip into a coma and possibly die,I am not joking I am very serious!! I hope that this has been helpful for you, good luck!!
In my case, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, then Fibromyalgia, and later I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I think a lot of times, when they can’t find the reason right away for the pain, fatigue, depression, etc. they just call it one of those. They didn’t find the RA factor until a few years after all of this was happening to me. All I could do was cope with it the best way I could, not giving in to staying in bed or not socializing, to look for answers and get plenty of sleep and take my medication, eat right and sooner or later they’ll find what is really doing this to you. I’m surely not saying that CFS doesn’t exist, but most of the people I know have had an illness identified within a few years that had a name. They treated me as if I were crazy and really made me feel kind of guilty for not getting better but no one would choose this for themselves. So keep your head up and if you’re very lucky and some people are, you will get better and go on to lead a very normal life. That happens all the time, too. Good luck!
